Born in Perth, David Ritter was for many years a prominent Indigenous rights lawyer, working principally in the field of native title.
He has written numerous essays, articles and reviews in law, history, politics and current affairs. In 2008 he co-edited Making Australian History: Perspectives on the past since 1788, a new anthology of Australian history.
He is currently working in a senior campaigns position with Greenpeace in London.
