UWA Publishing is currently accepting proposals for scholarly works and general non-fiction manuscripts. We are seeking contemporary, engaging works that will appeal to a broad readership.

We no longer accept proposals for children’s books. Adult fiction and poetry will only be accepted through a literary agent.

All care is taken, but no responsibility is accepted for loss or damage of unsolicited manuscripts received. Do not send original artwork or photographs.

Proposal guidelines

Before submitting a proposal, please read the UWA Publishing Proposal Submission Guidelines. 

Proposals not conforming to these guidelines will not be considered or acknowledged. Proposals that do not include a sample of writing will not be considered or acknowledged.

Your proposal must include the following or it will not be considered:

• UWA Publishing Proposal (following the Submission Guidelines)
• Author CV (including information about any previous publications)
• Brief synopsis or chapter summary (please include an overview of the entire story, including how it ends)
• Two to three sample chapters, or entire manuscript if available.

Submissions

If you have an agent, please do not send us your work directly as it should be sent via your agent.

UWA Publishing only accepts submissions via email. Email submissions with the subject line “Manuscript Submission”.

Acknowledgement of submissions

Due to the number of submissions we receive we cannot acknowledge receipt of each proposal. We will try to respond as quickly as we can, but please allow at least three months for your proposal to be considered.

We cannot provide detailed feedback on unsuccessful submissions.

UWA Publishing will initiate any further correspondence.
